I really wasn't joking when I said these shoes fill a surprisingly large gap in my wardrobe. I hope you're not bored of seeing them! This time I'm wearing them with this 1940s style dress from English Country Vintage in patriotic red, white and blue. I love a T-strap heel and they're always a style that's high on my list when I'm shopping for shoes. I think they look very elegant and are a vintage style that's quite easy to find on the high street. I wish I had the opportunity to wear heels more often but sadly since I walk so much they're rarely practical.

  1. Super lovely outfit, sweet dear - one of my favourites that you've ever shared with us. I believe that entirely. I absolutely live in my pair of red pumps (court shoes) and wear them, most months, as much (if not more so, sometimes) than my black and brown heels.

Big hugs & happy wishes for the new week,

  2. Helen, I absolutely ADORE that print, it's so pretty! And your shoes, oh man, there are literally hearts in my eyes! I need to add more shoes to my closet at some point, so I'm saving for some of American Duchess' shoes.

  3. Wow, this outfit is stunning, absolutely love the dress, probably one of my favourites you've posted. I love the smooth, sleek cut of the 1940s dress and the red shoes really bring out the red in the dress, it is so subtle and smart. Your hair and makeup really tie off the look, your hair is so elegant, would love to see more detailed photos of the hair, was it also inspired by 1940s fashion and beauty? seraphinevintage.com

    1. Thank you, that's so kind! The hair was definitely 1940s inspired but sadly I can't recreate it for any more photos as I've had my hair cut since then. However, I pulled the sides back first (used kirby grips here but I often use combs) then made two plaits at the back and then pinned them in place similar to in this image: http://www.prettydesigns.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/Braided-Updo-Hairstyles-Tutorials-Messy-Fishtail-Bun.jpg
