I had a crazy time trying to get these photos. I took some in the morning and I was fighting to get them done before it rained, but I only really got one shot that I was in any way happy with (the 'confused with a watering can' photo that I mentioned on Facebook). I went out and took some more later on and they mostly turned out pretty overexposed. My skirt is actually pink but you'd barely guess from these photos.

I hope you're not too fed up of photos taken in my mum's garden, by the way. A combination of bad weather and the last few weeks of my uni course are conspiring to prevent me getting out to take photos in different locations. Not sure how many of you are students and will be familiar with this feeling, but I just want to get it over now and take a break from studying. I have started applying for graduate jobs so fingers crossed!

Here is the 'confused (or possible more pensive) with a watering can' photo just because. I felt like I needed a prop so I just grabbed the nearest portable item. I'm sure the neighbours think I'm totally cracked as I spend a lot of time running about the garden battling with the self-timer. I have a small collection of photos with phone boxes; maybe I should start a collection of photos with garden equipment as well.

  1. Seriously beautiful skirt! I love a great, classic plaid like this the moment even so much of a whiff of fall returns to the air.

Not all! You're very lucky to have such a lovely garden to pose in. I sometimes go over to my mom and step-dad's house to "borrow" their deck or garden, too, as we only have a wee patch of grass and one tree in our tiny condo front yard (it doesn't have a back yard).

    1. This skirt is lovely. I would see something like this in a thrift shop and pass right over it, thinking that it wouldn't be flattering. But you wear it so well, it will make me think twice the next time I see something similar. It couldn't hurt to try it on. Thank you for sharing and opening my eyes to new fashion ideas.

    2. I think in all honesty it can be a little difficult to wear, but I find that a nice pair of heels and an un-fussy top half help to keep it from looking frumpy. It definitely doesn't hurt to give them a try, anyway - you can always put it back on the shelf if you hate it! :)

  3. I like the "confused with a watering can" photo, it's cute! You don't look confused so much as thoughtful; like "hmmm, where should I water next?" I really like the outfit, which looks both girly (pink and purple together! My 12 year old self is so jealous) and grounded, with the brown accessories. That shoes with ankle socks look is too cute, I wish I could pull it off that well.
